Attach an upholstery attachment to a vacuum cleaner's hose. Turn on the vacuum and run the brush over the entire sofa. Repeat this step once a week to keep surface debris off the sofa.
Saturate a microfiber cloth with dry-cleaning solve if the sofa’s label has an S or SW cleaning code. If the cleaning code is a W, use a solution of 1/4 cup dish soap mixed with 1 gallon of water. If the label has an X, you should only clean it by vacuuming and never use solvent or water-based products.
Rub stains gently with the damp cloth until they are no longer present. Blot the area with a clean, microfiber cloth damp with cold water to remove the cleaning solution. Pat the couch dry.
Mist the sofa cushions with undiluted white vinegar or a commercial odor remover to get rid of unwanted smells on the upholstery.
