How to Correct a Scuff on an Acrylic Finish Door

Acrylic finishes are a common option for heavily used appliances, furniture and doors because of their durability. Over time, scuff marks can appear on a door, giving it an undesirable look. Instead of having the door refinished, you can easily repair the scuff marks with a few household tools and minimal effort.

      Remove surface grime on the scuffed area by cleaning it with soapy water and a clean cloth. Wipe the area dry with a dry, clean cloth.

      Pour a dab of acrylic cleaner on a clean cloth, and clean the scuffed area in a circular motion.

      Sand the scuffed surface with a piece of fine-grit sandpaper in a circular motion. The scuff marks should gradually disappear. Wipe away excess debris with a moist cloth.

      Polish the area with a dab of acrylic polish on a clean cloth to restore the shine to the finish on the door.
