How to Keep My Pet Cover on My Couch

Big or small, feline or canine, pets can leave hair, scratch marks and slobbers over your furniture. Pet covers provide protection for couches from the ravages our furry friends contribute to furniture. Unfortunately, pet covers shift and slip as animals and people sit and move about on the couch. Constantly fixing the pet cover is a nuisance chore that gets old over time. Secure the pet cover so you and your pet can lounge peacefully together.

Things You'll Need

  • Scissors
  • Velcro

Instructions

  1. Cloth Couch

    • 1

Turn the pet cover over to expose the underneath side. Lay the cover on a table and straighten out any wrinkles.

    • 2

Cut Velcro in 6-inch sections with scissors. Prepare six to eight pieces depending on the size of the pet cover.

    • 3

Apply one piece of Velcro on each short end of the pet cover, placing it 3 to 4 inches from the edge. Place two to three pieces on the two long edges of the pet cover, again placing them 3 to 4 inches from the edge.

    • 4

Cut two 12-inch pieces of Velcro. Apply these two longer pieces in the center area of the pet cover.

    • 5

Turn the pet cover over. Lay the cover on the couch, securing the Velcro at the back seat of the furniture first. Next secure each end of the pet cover to the couch, working your way to the front.

    Leather Couch

    • 6

Lay the pet cover over the top of the cushions on the leather couch.

    • 7

Tuck the pet cover into the back side of the cushions, pushing the end of the cover under the cushions.

    • 8

Press the cover into each end of the couch cushions, and work your way to the front. Push the rest of the pet cover under the front of the leather couch cushions.
