How to Clean Wood Cabinets That Have Food Stuck to Them

It can be expensive to replace your wood kitchen cabinets, so cleaning them and keeping them maintained is important to keeping them looking clean and extending their lifespan. Being located in the kitchen, one of the biggest issues that you'll have to deal with is food sticking to the cabinets. Cleaning the cabinets is a simple housekeeping task that can be accomplished by almost anyone.

Things You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Water
  • Rag
  • Furniture polish
  • Lemon oil

Instructions

    • 1

Mix a mild solution of dish soap and water. If the cabinets have grease stains on them, use a dish soap that contains a degreaser.

    • 2

Wipe down the cabinets with a soft rag dampened with the cleaning solution. Scrub areas where food is stuck on the cabinets repeatedly with the rag. Do not use a scrub brush or steel wool, as you can damage the cabinet's finish.

    • 3

Wipe the cabinet down with a dry rag to dry it off.

    • 4

Wipe the cabinets down with furniture polish or lemon oil once or twice a year
