Nail glue is used to bond artificial nails in place on your natural fingernails for up to weeks at a time. Made of the same substance as products such as Super Glue, nail glue is a strong adhesive that when spilled can be difficult to remove without the proper materials. When you spill nail glue on a tabletop, you will want to quickly and safely remove it.
Take a cotton ball and apply a bit of acetone to it, enough to dampen but not saturate the ball in the liquid.
Pat the glue with the acetone-dampened cotton ball several times. Do not get the acetone on the surface of the table itself. Allow the acetone to penetrate the glue, patting the surface several times further to keep the surface of the glue wet with the acetone; this can take about two to three minutes, . Once penetrated, the acetone will loosen the glue on the table's surface.
Use the edge of a plaster scraper to scrape off the nail glue from the table, working from the edge of the glued area towards its center. Wipe the surface with a dry piece of cloth to remove any remaining glue or acetone residue.
Clean the area with a pH-neutral cleanser and sponge to ensure all traces of acetone are removed from the surface. If allowed to remain the acetone could penetrate through the finish of the table, marring the table's appearance in the process. Rinse the area with a sponge dampened with clean water then pat dry with the dry piece of cloth.
