How to Fix Pleather

Scratches

  Apply one drop of distilled water at a time to the scratches until they are moist. Refrain from adding too much water, which can leave water stains on the pleather.

  Rub the dampened scratched with a leather cloth known as a chamois in a circular motion. Continue rubbing gently until you have removed the scratches from the pleather.

  Dampen a lint-free cloth with olive oil if the scratches are still visible. Buff the scratched pleather with the damp cloth until they are no longer present.

Ink Stains

  Rub the ink stains in a circular motion with a cotton ball dampened in rubbing alcohol.

  Replace the soiled cotton ball with a fresh one dipped in rubbing alcohol. Continue in this manner until the ink is no longer visible.

  Rinse the rubbing alcohol off the pleather with a damp, lint-free cloth. Clean the pleather as you normally would.

Rips

  Cut any hanging threads from the damaged pleather with scissors. Clean the damaged area of the pleather dampened with rubbing alcohol. Allow the pleather to dry.

  Stir the repair compound with the plastic spatula included in the kit. Scoop a small amount of the compound out of the jar and spread evenly over the damaged pleather.

  Let the repair compound dry for several hours. Rub the dried compound until smooth with a clean cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol. Let dry once again.

  Apply a thin layer of the clear coat directly over the repair compound and let dry. Repeat this step until you achieve the desired result.

  Clean your pleather as you normally would.
