How to Clean a Frigidaire Self-cleaning Oven

Frigidaire offers a wide variety of self-cleaning gas and electric ovens. Food and grease residue can splatter inside your oven during the cooking process, leaving a tough, burned-on mess behind. The self-cleaning feature incinerates food residue with extremely high temperatures, leaving a thin layer of ash behind. There's no need for excessive scrubbing or harsh chemical cleaners. Run the self-cleaning cycle on a regular basis to prevent messes from building up inside your Frigidaire oven.

Instructions

    • 1

Open any doors or windows and turn on a fan, if you have one, to circulate the air.

    • 2

Open the oven door and remove the racks.

    • 3

Fill a sink with hot water and add 1 to 2 tbsp. dish detergent. Dip a cloth in the sink and wring it out. Wipe the inside of the oven, including the door and oven frame, to remove any excess food or grease residue. Do not wipe the door gasket.

    • 4

Close the Frigidaire oven door and press "Self Clean." Set the self-clean timer for two to four hours, depending on how dirty the oven is. Press "Start" to lock the oven door and begin the self-cleaning cycle.

    • 5

Wash the oven racks in hot, soapy water with a cloth or scrub sponge. Rinse the oven racks thoroughly and dry them with a towel.

    • 6

Open the oven door when the self-cleaning cycle is complete. The door will remain locked until one hour after the cleaning cycle, to allow the oven to cool.

    • 7

Wipe away any ash with a damp cloth or sponge and replace the oven racks. Do not place any aluminum foil or liners in the Frigidaire self-cleaning oven.
