Instructions

    • 1

Pour water into the tank on the Shark steam cleaner. Press down on the safety cap on the tank that sits behind the handle and remove it. Use a funnel to transfer water easily into the water tank. Make sure to fill the tank completely before using.

    • 2

Replace the cap back on the tank and twist it until it locks into place securely, so no water spills out while in use.

    • 3

Choose the nozzle you need to place on the steam cleaner. Depending on your cleaning task, you might need one of several accessory nozzles, including one with a bristle brush that you can use on carpets or places where you need to scrub as well as steam clean.

    • 4

Plug in the Shark steam cleaner and turn it on using the power switch. Let the steam cleaner heat up for around 10 minutes before using. The red light will indicate that the cleaner is heating up, and the steam ready light will let you know when it is ready to use.

    • 5

Place the nozzle directly over the area or object that you are cleaning and make sure to hold it at least a few inches above the object, especially if you are cleaning carpets or furniture upholstery because the extreme heat and steam can damage the materials if placed directly on it.

    • 6

Press down on the trigger to release the steam and activate the steam cleaning process.

    • 7

Move the steam cleaner around in a circular motion above the area that needs to be cleaned, keeping constant pressure on the trigger to release a steady amount of steam.

    • 8

Turn off the machine after you cleaned the area and use a cloth or rag to wipe up any leftover dirt that the steam cleaner loosened. Unplug the steam cleaner from the wall.

    • 9

Empty the water from the tank after use. Replace the water inside with a new supply of clean water for the next time you need to use the steam cleaner.
