How to Troubleshoot an Oreck Sanapathic

The Oreck Sanapathic is a handheld vapor cleaning machine that uses steam vapor to clean hard surfaces, such as floors, countertops, tile and other areas of the home. The device does not use any cleaners or chemicals, which may appeal to individuals who have sensitivities, allergies or objections to chemicals or cleaning products. Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Sanapathic into a working power supply if the device is not working. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker as needed. Note that you may need to remove other appliances from the circuit for proper power supply.

    • 2

Use an extension cord marked "15 amps" or above if the extension cord currently in use does not supply enough power or the device only works intermittently.

    • 3

Align the tab on the nozzle with the slot on the main unit if there is no steam dispensing from the nozzle. Twist the nozzle clockwise until it stops. Push the brush firmly onto the nozzle.

    • 4

Refill the tank with clean water if there is no vapor dispensing from the machine. Ensure the cap is screwed on tightly (clockwise) to secure. Distilled water is recommended.

    • 5

Wait for the light to go out before using the device if there is low vapor supply or the temperature seems too cool. The vapor may not be hot enough before the light goes out. Press the button to release steam and then release the button.

    • 6

Turn off and unplug the unit if there are mineral deposits on the steam outlet. Once cool, use a pin or needle to clear the steam outlet. Dampen a cloth with white vinegar and clean any mineral deposits off of the jet nozzle.
