  Set the Hoover Fold Away vacuum upright on the floor. Lift up the handle until it clicks into position.

  Plug the Hoover vacuum into a grounded electrical outlet. Push the main power switch to "On."

  Select the desired height setting. "Low" can be used for all types of carpets and hard floors and "Medium" and "High" will depend on the height of the carpet pile. When the carpet emits a steady, low tone during use, the height setting is correct.

  Push the vacuum in a back and forth motion over the carpet area to be cleaned. Turn the vacuum "Off" when finished and unplug from the power supply.

  Pull down the handle on the dirt cup, located on the front of the vacuum, to release the dirt cup. Empty the dirt cup in a waste bin.

  Pull the filter from the dirt cup and gently tap the filter against the side of a waste bin to remove excess dirt and debris.

  Reassemble the filter in the dirt cup and replace the dirt cup in the vacuum.
