Turn off and unplug the Dyson Ball vacuum.
Push the catch on top of the dust bin to release it from the Dyson vacuum. Push the button on top of the dust bin while holding it over a waste bin to empty the bin. Check the nozzle connection inside the dust bin compartment and clear any blockages before returning the dust bin to position.
Rotate the base of the hose in a down motion until a click is heard and then twist it away from the machine to remove.
Squeeze the release catches on either side of the hose and check inside the hose for obstructions. Clean as necessary.
Pull the top of the tube away from the vacuum and look inside for possible obstructions. Clear as necessary.
Lower the handle and turn the vacuum over. Use a coin to turn the soleplate locks, which are colored on each side of the brush bar. Turn the end caps counterclockwise and remove. Slide out the brush bar and use a pair of scissors to remove any strings that may be restricting movement.
Reassemble the vacuum and restore power.
