How to Adjust the Brushes on a Floormate

The Hoover Floormate is a hard floor cleaner that features a 27-foot cord, automatic height adjustment, large water capacity tank and an automatic brush roll shutoff. The device is sold online and in many department and home retail stores and carries a limited warranty. Adjusting the brushes on the Floormate should be done to accommodate the type of floor being cleaned and the type of cleaning being performed, which is either wet or dry.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the mode selector dial to "Dry Vac" if standard dry vacuuming is desired on a bare floor. This lifts the brushes up off the floor and does not rotate the brushes.

    • 2

Turn the dial to "Wash" to use the water setting and scrub the bare floor with the brushes. This lowers the brushes to make contact with the floor.

    • 3

Lean the Floormate back to rest on the floor to remove the brushes. Push the release buttons on each side of the brush assembly and pull out to remove. Clean with soapy water and rinse well. Allow to dry before replacing in the unit.
