How to Take Off a Sticker Without Leaving Marks

Almost all consumer goods come plastered in stickers. These aren't always the most aesthetically pleasing thing to look at. They can sometimes be removed by peeling them off, but oftentimes the paper part of the sticker rips off from the glue part, leaving behind a mess. You can scrape a sticker off, but this leaves marks and grooves on your item. The best way to remove a sticker is to use a solvent to dissolve the glue. The sticker will then come off with ease without leaving marks.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Place object in the bowl so that the sticker is face down.

    • 2

Fill the bowl with your solvent. Sometimes water is all you need, but other times the glue proves resilient and you will need something stronger. Rubbing alcohol can be used in such cases.

    • 3

Allow the sticker to soak in the bowl for a while.

    • 4

Test the sticker and see if it peels off easily. If it doesn't, let it soak longer.

    • 5

Peel off the sticker. If it leaves some traces behind, rub them off. If they prove resistant to rubbing off, soak the object longer and repeat until all traces are gone.
