How to Clean Electric Grills With Non-Removable Plates

An electric grill is an easy-to-use, healthy and versatile addition to your cooking appliances. To keep your electric grill in solid working order, you need to clean it between each use. This helps prevent malfunction and buildup of dirt, dust, grease and food debris. The grill has electronic parts, so it cannot be submerged in water -- you have to wash it by hand.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug your electric grill from the wall outlet. Allow the grill to cool completely before proceeding.

    • 2

Place the drip tray that comes with the grill or a plastic container under the edge of the front of the grill. Use a plastic spatula to scrape loose food particles and grease into the tray.

    • 3

Wipe the cooking surface of your electric grill with a warm, soapy sponge. The sponge should be moist, not saturated. Periodically rinse the sponge, re-moisten and apply soap to it.

    • 4

Scrub away any tough stains or burnt-on food with a plastic scouring pad. Use a clean sponge moistened only with water to wipe away any soapy residue. Dry excess moisture from the cooking surface with a paper towel.

    • 5

Wipe the exterior of your electric grill with a clean, wet sponge. Dry the exterior with a clean, soft cloth.
