Jib Crane Specs

A jib crane is used in construction for lifting heavy loads and for accessing the windows of tall buildings. The jib crane has a horizontal beam, or jib, that connects to a vertical beam stationed to a wall or a platform. You need to learn the correct specifications if your project requires a jib crane.

    The Base Diameter

    • The base diameter is the measurement of the width of the jib crane's base, which connects to the floor. The base diameters are 24, 26, 28 and 30 inches, depending on the crane model.

    The Bolt Circle

    • The bolt circle is the round hole that holds the bolt connecting the two beams. The bolt is 20, 22, 24 or 26 inches, depending on the crane model.
