Directions for the Dirt Devil Broom Vac

The Dirt Devil broom vacuum or "Brum" is a cordless appliance that is operated like a manual broom but contains a battery-powered suction unit to remove excess dirt and debris without having to sweep it up. The device is available on the Internet as well as home centers, hardware and department stores. The broom vac weighs almost four pounds and has a replaceable filter and a 9.6-volt motor. Operating the broom vac is relatively simple and straightforward.

Instructions

      Turn the power switch on the Dirt Devil to "Off" and connect the power cord to the base and to a working power outlet. Allow the device to charge for up to 24 hours for a proper battery charge.

      Disconnect the power cord from the base of the Dirt Devil when the light turns green, indicating that the appliance has been properly charged.

      Hold the Dirt Devil like a traditional broom and sweep dirt on a bare floor into a pile.

      Turn the power switch to "On" and hold the appliance with the long bristles facing away from you. Hold the Dirt Devil over the dirt pile to suction up the dirt.

      Turn the power switch to "Off" when finished. Push the "Dirt Cup Release" button on the side of the Dirt Devil and pull out the dirt cup.

      Hold the dirt cup over a waste container and push the "Release" button to empty out the cup. Open the lid on the dirt cup and remove the filter from the lid.

      Tap the filter over the waste container. Replace the filter in the dirt cup and set the dirt cup back in the Dirt Devil.

      Store the Dirt Devil in a cool, dry place.
