Bissell ProHeat Machine Instructions

Remove furniture in the room so that you can reach all areas of the carpet. Vacuum the carpet thoroughly before using the ProHeat.

Grab the tank carry handle at the base of the ProHeat and lift it up to remove the tank from the unit.

Carry the tank to the sink. Push the handle forward to unlatch the lid. Remove the lid, turn it over and locate the built-in measuring cup. Pour the Bissell cleaning formula to the fill line on the measuring cup and pour the formula into the tank. Fill the tank with clean, hot tap water.

Place the lid onto the tank, making sure to align the lid and tank edges. Pull the handle back to the carrying position to close the lid. Test the lid to make sure it is secure before lifting the tank. Place the tank into the base of the unit. Make sure the tank is secure, then pull the handle back to latch it.

Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Turn the dial on the front of the base to the "Floor" cleaning setting. Press the red "Power" lever on the back of the unit with your foot to turn the ProHeat on. Flip the "Heater" switch on the side of the ProHeat to the "On" position. Allow the heater to warm up for at least one minute.

Press the gray "Handle Release" lever on the back of the unit with your foot to lower the handle into the cleaning position.

Squeeze the trigger on the handle to spray the Bissell cleaning solution onto the carpet. Slowly push the ProHeat over the carpet while pressing the trigger, then pull it slowly back over the same path. Allow the heated water, cleaning solution and PowerBrushes do their job.

Release the spray trigger and slowly push the ProHeat forward and backward over the same area to remove the dirty water from the carpet fibers. Repeat this cleaning process until the solution being suctioned up is clean. Continue moving the ProHeat over the same area until the water is fully suctioned out.

Repeat this cleaning process over the entire carpet in the same forward and backward motion.

Turn off the ProHeat when you are finished cleaning and unplug the power cord. Remove the water tank from the base of the unit using the tank carry handle. Carry the tank to a sink or drain. Push the handle forward to unlock the lid. Remove the lid and empty the dirty solution.

Remove the lint screen located on the tank lid. Rinse the tank lid, lint screen and tank thoroughly with hot water. Replace the lint screen. Allow the tank to completely dry before placing it back into the unit.

Grasp the handle on the top of the nozzle and pull it forward -- the nozzle handle can be found at the front of the base. Rinse the nozzle under running water to clean it. Slightly lift the front of the unit and align the slots on the base with the hooks on the nozzle. Attach the nozzle to the base, then click it into place.
