How to Clean With Vinegar in a Shark Steamer

Using a Shark steamer is an easy way to clean and sanitize floors without the use of chemicals. The steam mop heats up water from the water tank and releases steam through a microfiber pad, quickly breaking up dirt and stains on hard floor surfaces. If you want to boost the steam mop's disinfectant power, add a vinegar solution to the water tank. The acetic acid in the vinegar helps rid the floors of bacteria, mold and germs while the heat from the steam disinfects.

    • 4

Place the Shark steam mop flat on the floor or counter top.

    • 5

Turn the water tank cap counter clockwise to remove it. Set it aside.

    • 6

Pour 1/4 cup of vinegar into the filling flask. Fill it up the rest of the way with water.

    • 7

Pour the water-vinegar solution into the water tank until it reaches the tank opening or maximum water-level mark.

    • 8

      Replace the water tank cap.

    • 9

Plug the unit in and turn it on. Allow it to sit for 30 seconds.

    • 10

    • 11

Replace the mop head with a clean one if dirt begins building up on it, leaving streaks on the floor.
