How to Troubleshoot a Bissell PowerSteamer Clearview Model 1692

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the power cord on the Clearview to a functional power outlet if the machine is not working. Replace or reset the fuse or circuit breaker as needed. Turn the main power switch "On" and the "SmartTemp" switch to "On" in order for the device to function properly.

    • 2

Refill the water tank with clean, hot water and fill the "SmartMix" bottle with cleaning solution if there is little or no cleaning spray coming out when you press the cleaning trigger. Position both tanks correctly on the machine. Turn the Clearview "Off" and wait one minute before turning the power back on and squeezing the trigger.

    • 3

Clean the "Flow Indicator" unit on the base of the machine if the Clearview is not working as expected. Unscrew the cap and lift out the red housing and white filter. Rinse the filter and housing, as well as the cap, under clean water and replace. Close the cap until snug.

Turn off and unplug the Clearview if the brush roll does not turn. Remove the tanks and lower the handle. Turn the machine over and use a flat blade to press open the "Belt Access" door. Open the door and examine the pump belt. Replace the belt if it is damaged or broken. Clean long strings off the brush roll with a pair of scissors. Reposition the brush roll into the unit and close the belt access door.

Turn the "Ready Tools" dial to the correct setting for the floor surface if no cleaning solution is being suctioned into the machine. Push down on the black oval-shaped gasket on the top of the nozzle window and make sure the two tabs on the nozzle back are properly positioned in the slots on the main unit.
