Instructions for a 14-Gallon Shop Vac

The Shop-Vac Pro 965-14-00 is a wet/dry pickup vacuum for home and workshop use. It has a total tank capacity of 14 liquid gallons and is mounted on two large rear support wheels and two smaller pivoting front wheels. A 120-volt AC motor develops 5.5 peak horsepower and draws 195 cubic feet per minute of air flow through the vacuum. The suction stream is filtered by a reusable dry filter and foam filter sleeve. The Shop Vac Pro ships with a 2-1/2-inch-diameter vacuum hose that is eight feet long. Standard attachments include two extension wands, one floor nozzle, one utility nozzle and a crevice tool.

Instructions

  1. Dry Pickup

    • 1

Unhook the two tank cover latches by pulling them outward. Remove the tank cover and turn it upside down.

    • 2

Slide the foam sleeve over the lid cage, pushing it down until it completely covers the lid cage and contacts the cover.

    • 3

Position the dry filter over the lid cage and slide it down over the foam sleeve until it completely covers the foam sleeve. Slide the mounting ring down over the dry filter until the ring engages with the ribs of the lid cage.

    • 4

Replace the tank cover and secure the two tank cover latches.

    Wet Pickup

    • 5

Unhook the two tank cover latches by pulling them outward. Remove the tank cover and turn it upside down.

    • 6

Remove residual dust or debris from the tank.

    • 7

Remove the dry filter from the lid cage. Leave the foam sleeve in place on the lid cage.

    • 8

Remove the vacuum hose from the tank inlet by unscrewing the hose locking nut and rotating the hose collar counterclockwise.

    • 9

Slide the inlet deflector up and out of its mount. Turn the inlet deflector over and reinstall insuring that the opening in inlet deflector now faces the top of the tank.

    • 10

Replace the vacuum hose in the tank inlet by rotating the hose collar clockwise and tightening the hose locking nut. Replace the tank cover and secure the two tank cover latches.

    • 11

Turn off the power immediately upon completion of a wet pickup job and raise the vacuum hose to drain excess liquid into the tank.
