Proctor & Gamble Swiffer Parts

The Swiffer Sweeper traps and locks dirt and dust from hard surfaces in your home. Proctor and Gamble, manufacturers of the Swiffer Sweeper, maintain that Swiffer dry cloths pick up 50 percent more dirt, dust, and hair than a broom. The wet mopping cloth is used to dissolve dirt and grime. The Swiffer Starter Kit offers both types of cloths, the Swiffer base and the Swiffer handle.
  1. Base

    • The Swiffer base holds the Swiffer disposable pads. Swiffer bases are molded from sturdy polyurethane plastic and connect to the handle of the Swiffer Sweeper via a swivel stem. The Swiffer base can be purchased separately to replace one that has worn out.

    Handle

    • The Swiffer Sweeper handle is a light metal handle that comes in four pieces in the Swiffer kits. The handle sections snap together and connect to the Swiffer base. The Swiffer handle's light weight is intended to keep the Swiffer easy to use for extended periods of time.

    Pads

    • Swiffer pads come in moistened and dry versions for cleaning up both wet and dry messes. Replacement dry and wet pads are available in bulk from many merchants.

    DIY Pads

    • If you do not like using disposable cleaning products, a greener pad alternative can be made from old socks, T-shirts and wool blankets. They don't have to look appealing -- after all, you're cleaning the floor! DIY pads can be thrown in the washer and reused.
