Instructions

    • 1

Vacuum the carpet with a regular vacuum cleaner before using the Dirt Devil steamer.

    • 2

Push down on the "Clean Solution Reservoir" latch and tilt the tank away from the unit to remove.

    • 3

Remove the cap on the back of the tank and pour in five caps full of cleaning solution. Fill the rest of the tank with clean, hot water. Close the cap firmly and set the tank back on the unit. Place the bottom of the tank on the carpet cleaner first, then push the top into place.

    • 4

Plug in the power cord and turn the main power to "On." Wait a few minutes to allow the unit to heat properly and then squeeze the trigger on the handle to dispense the hot cleaning solution.

    • 5

Push the carpet cleaner forward, then let go of the trigger before pulling it back over the same area. Repeat this motion in overlapping areas to clean the rest of the carpet.

    • 6

Turn off and unplug the cleaner when finished. Grasp the top of the dirty water tank, located on the base of the unit, and push down on the latch to release the tank. Lift up on the tank and remove the lid before emptying.

    • 7

Rinse out the tank and the filter, located in the lid of the tank, set aside to dry and replace on the unit. Lift the carpet cleaner slightly for better positioning when replacing the tank, and hook the front of the tank on the cleaner base before pushing the unit onto the cleaner.
