How to Troubleshoot a Hoover Agility SteamVac F6205-900

The Hoover Agility SteamVac is a deep cleaner for carpets that offers a folding handle, removable 1-gallon water tank, 5 spinning brushes, a 12-amp motor, 24-foot-long cord, full bag indicator, bagless dust container and an overall weight of just over 20 lbs. The Agility SteamVac is sold in many home retail, hardware, appliance and department stores and should function well under most circumstances if cleaned, maintained and treated well. Problems that do arise, however, can frequently be resolved through some troubleshooting.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug the Agility SteamVac firmly into a power outlet if the machine is not working. Check the fuse or circuit breaker and replace or reset as necessary.

    • 2

Turn off power and pull up on the latch to remove the recovery tank if suction is low. Empty the tank and replace it on the machine once the lid has been securely closed.

    • 3

Close the tool door firmly if the unit has power and the recovery tank is empty but suction is still low.

    • 4

Set the brush speed selector to "On" if the brush roll is not spinning. Remove the tanks and set the cleaner on its back. Squeeze the filter frame below the brush roll and pull it out. Wipe the filter clean and then slide back into position.

    • 5

Check the hose and nozzles for items that may be obstructing proper suction if the machine is not picking up items as expected.
