Instructions

Unplug the keyboard from the computer monitor and turn it upside down. Shake the keyboard gently and let all the water flow out. Move it back and forth in a circular motion until all the water that will come out has dropped.

    • 2

Sit the keyboard on a flat surface. Soak the bristles of an old toothbrush in acetone, making sure all of the bristles are covered completely. Run the toothbrush over the keyboard. Get into the crevices in the keyboard and brush firmly so the acetone can get inside and dry the water.

Add more acetone to the brush when necessary and continue until the entire keyboard has been covered with the acetone. Wait 45 minutes for the acetone to soak in and cover the keyboard in a cleaning putty.

Set the cleaning putty over the keyboard, beginning in either corner. Spread out the putty and form it around a small area on the keyboard. Push it by hand between the keys on the keyboard. The putty will soak up the acetone inside the keyboard. Let the putty sit for one minute and pull it up by hand. The putty should come off easily. Repeat the process with the putty for all the other areas of the keyboard.
