Open the box and lay out all the pieces in your work area. Keep small piece like nuts and screws in a single location.
Set the base upright on the floor.
Orient the midsection of the carpet cleaner, so that the power cord faces away from the base and the hose is near the floor.
Slide the tabs on the bottom of the midsection into the slots at the back of the base.
Locate the two screw holes at the bottom of the midsection near the base.
Hold the power cord away from the midsection by looping it over one shoulder.
Hold the nut in place over one screw hole at the back of the midsection.
Insert a screw through the front of the same screw hole and tighten it using a Phillips screwdriver. As you turn the screw, it will thread itself through the nut.
Repeat Steps 6 and 7 for the other screw.
Slide the upper handle into the slot on top of the midsection.
Locate the screw hole at the top of the midsection and the base of the handle. Insert a screw and tighten it.
Insert the tabs on the back of the tool caddy into the slots located near the bottom of the back of the midsection. The tool caddy will snap into place.
Place a nut into the recess at the bottom of the tool caddy and hold it in place.
Press the handle release at the base of the midsection and tilt the handle backwards.
Place a screw through the screw hole in the center of the midsection and tighten the screw.
Wrap the power cord counterclockwise, starting at the lower cord hook on the tool caddy and wrapping upwards to the long hood on the upper handle. Continue until the cord is wrapped completely.
Slide the upholstery tool into the center slot on the tool caddy.
Place the adapter end of the hose onto the right side of the tool caddy.
Wrap the cord in a clockwise direction, pressing it first into the lower hose clip located directly above the power cord hook, then into the grooves on the bottom of the tool caddy and finally into the second hose clip on the next pass.
Hold the solution reservoir by the handle and insert the opposite end into the depression on the front of the midsection.
Press the reservoir toward the midsection to lock the reservoir in place.
