How to Clean Krylon

Decide which type of Krylon spray paint you wish to use for the project you are painting. Krylon H2O Latex spray paint is easier to wash away and clean up if you accidentally spray other areas. Similar to Krylon spray paint, it is intended for indoor and outdoor use.

Use drop cloths and cover any flooring, carpeted areas or furniture near where you will be spraying paint, if painting indoors. Wear old clothing and disposable gloves. Wear your hair up or wear a hat if you are using Krylon spray paint that is not the H2O Latex. If you are painting outdoors, cover any sidewalks or driveways with a drop cloth, as the concrete could get spattered with paint.

Clean surfaces that are covered with dry paint by using a clean cloth and a mild, low-scented detergent and water. Wipe the surface clean and rinse with clean water. If items continue clinging to the Krylon on outdoor surfaces, such as bird droppings or dirt on patio furniture, use a soft scrub brush and more cleanser and wipe with a cloth again before the final rinse. Do not use a hard scouring pad or metal scubbing bristles. Launder the cloths by themselves in cold water in the washing machine.

Clean unintended Krylon H2O Latex spray paint with the mild detergent and a clean cloth and water. Wipe the area where the paint was sprayed, blotting the paint from the outer edges of the paint spatter toward the center. Rinse with another clean cloth, dipped in clean water. Launder the cloths by themselves in cold water in the washing machine.
