How to Clean a Non-Stick Stovetop Grill

When you enjoy grilling meats and vegetables, having a stovetop grill available for quick-grilled meals may fit your cooking style. A stovetop grill enables you to grill year-round without stepping outdoors to the backyard grill. When you have an indoor grill with a nonstick surface, dishwashing becomes a simple task. Clean a nonstick stovetop grill carefully to ensure that you do not damage the grill surface.

Instructions

    • 1

Allow the grill to cool completely before you clean it.

    • 2

Fill the sink with warm water and add enough dishwashing detergent to the water to make sudsy bubbles.

    • 3

Place the grill into the sink, angling one-half of the grill so it fits below the surface of the water. Portions of the grill may extend out of the sink, depending on the size of the grill. Allow the grill to soak in the water for three to four minutes.

    • 4

Wipe the nonstick surfaces of the grill with the dishcloth to remove grease and cooking residues. Use the nylon scrubber to scrub gently at any stubborn residue.

    • 5

Reposition the grill in the water so the other half of the grill sits below the water surface. Allow this half of the grill to soak for about three minutes.

    • 6

Wipe and scrub this half of the grill with the dishcloth and the nylon scrubber.

    • 7

Rinse the grill well with clear, warm water. Dry the grill well with the dishtowel.
