Hoover Steamvac Carpet Cleaner Upholstery Instructions

The Hoover SteamVac comes with an upholstery tool for providing a deep clean to upholstery surfaces as well as carpets, stairs and floors. The upholstery tool uses the same hot water and cleaning solution as the carpet cleaner, but uses a smaller hand held tool to allow you to apply the cleaning solution to sofas, chairs and other small surfaces. Instructions for using the upholstery tool are fairly simple, but operation of the device should only be done by adults.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Hoover SteamVac from the electrical outlet and remove the solution tank from the main unit. Set the tank aside and pull the hose out from the device storage rack.

    • 2

Depress the handle release pedal with your foot and set the handle down on the floor.

    • 3

Remove the recovery tank lid by unlatching it at the back of the tank and pulling forward. Set the lid aside. Pull up on the front panel of the recovery tank to remove it.

    • 4

Push the upholstery tool converter down into the front of the recovery tank until it stops.

    • 5

Pull the collar toward the connecting tube, which extends the black tabs. Lift open the lid marked "Stair/Upholstery Cleaning Connection." Push the round solution tube connector into the round nozzle inside the lid and push firmly until connected.

    • 6

Replace the recovery tank lid and push it down until completely closed. Attach the upholstery tool to the end of the hose and twist it slightly until it clicks into position.

    • 7

Fill the cleaning solution tank with cleaning detergent and warm water. Close the lid and replace the cleaning solution tank on the unit. Bring the cleaning handle to the upright position until it clicks into place.

    • 8

Plug the power cord in to an electrical outlet, turn the carpet cleaner "On" and hold the upholstery tool over the surface to be cleaned. Move the tool forward while pressing the trigger. Set the tool down on the upholstery and press the trigger while pulling back gently over the damp area.

    • 9

Repeat a rear stroke over the same area without pressing the trigger. Repeat wet and dry strokes, overlapping each new set of back and forth strokes by 1/2-inch.

    • 10

Turn off the machine and empty the tanks when finished.
