List of American Hoover Dial-A-Matic Models

Hoover has been a trusted name in vacuum cleaners for more than 100 years. The company's competitive design features has kept the Hoover vacuum a viable choice for every generation of homemaker. Premier innovations that were first developed by the Hoover company are now standard features with Hoover and other major vacuum manufacturers. The most familiar are the rotating beater bar (the rotating arm with brushes that comes in direct contact with the floor churning up the dirt in the carpet), the disposable bag and the headlight. The Dial-A-Matic, is another original invention by Hoover and though the purpose remains the same, it has undergone a name change, depending on the function of the Hoover appliance. The Dial-A-Matic has become the Surface Command Adjustment for multifloor cleaning units and is referred to as the EZ Select Dial for hardwood floor vacuums.

    • The Spin Scrub Bare Floor Bonus system includes additional cleaning tools: large and small grout brushes, a swivel-nozzle, telescoping wand for reaching behind toilets, pedestal sinks and other tight spaces.

    Hoover Steam Mop

    • The Hoover Enhance Clean Disinfecting Steam Mop utilizes the dial by giving the operator the option to choose from light or heavy cleaning. It gives user the option to steam clean using high pressure steam or additional disinfectant solution that removes up to 99.9 percent of household bacteria collected in the carpet.
