How to Tie Wakeboard Ropes

Selecting the right wakeboard ropes is important to the enjoyment of the sport. The stretch, length and handles of these ropes are the main factors to consider when buying one. However, just as importantly, tying these ropes correctly can make your experience a lot smoother. Properly tied wakeboard ropes last longer and make the sport safer.

Instructions

    • 1

Hold the rope two inches from one end. Pull until your arms are extended -- then grab again and pull -- to make loops the circumference of your wingspan.

    • 2

Repeat Step 1 until the rope length is wound up.

    • 3

Secure the loop with the Velcro strap on the handle. Skip to Step 4, if your wakeboard rope has no strap on its handle.

    • 4

Pass the rope loop through the handle up to its middle. Loop the handle back and pass it through the rope to tie off the loop and prevent the rope from unwinding.
