How to Clean Underneath a Refrigerator

You'll end up with a large collection of dust, food particles and even kitchen grease if you don't clean the area underneath the refrigerator regularly. While dust is unattractive, food particles and kitchen grease can actually attract mice and insects to your home. Regular dusting and a periodic thorough cleaning improves your home's cleanliness and discourages animals from moving in.

Instructions

    • 1

Create a thin duster by placing a stocking or nylon net over a yardstick. Secure the stocking with a rubber band.

    • 2

Slide the yardstick back and forth underneath the refrigerator. Remove dust and crumbs from the stocking. Repeat until clean.

    • 3

Pull out the refrigerator once or twice a year. Scrub the floor underneath the refrigerator's usual space.
