How to Get Rid of a Moldy Smell in the Dishwasher

A dishwasher that smells moldy may cause you to worry about the condition of the appliance. A moldy smell often indicates the presence of mold, mildew or bacteria. Leaving unwashed dishes in the appliance can cause the odor, but old food and debris that rests on the bottom of the dishwasher may also be the culprit. Cleaning the dishwasher thoroughly with items that you have in your home will kill any mold and bacteria and restore to appliance back to its original condition.
