What Is the Difference Between a Hoover Steamvac F5914 & F5915?

The Hoover SteamVac carpet cleaner comes in several different models with variations between each model. This includes the F5915 and the F5914 models, which may seem nearly identical in scope but do have some slight variations that might make a difference to someone considering purchasing a Hoover SteamVac unit.
  1. F5915 Features

    • As with most Hoover SteamVac carpet cleaners, the F5915 unit has multiple rotating brushes that may be removed for easy cleaning. The cleaner sends a blast of warm air to the floor to improve overall cleaning and has a "Clean Surge" button for additional stain removal. There are two separate tanks for clean water and solution and dirty water and the unit includes a set of hand tools.

    F5915 Specifications

    • The shipping weight of the Hoover F5915 carpet cleaner is approximately 28 pounds and it measures 12 inches long by 19 inches wide and 44 inches high. A 12-amp motor provides ample power for cleaning and suctioning up dirt and debris with a 21-foot long cord to allow for easy maneuvering in most rooms. The hose is 8 feet long to allow access to corners, under furniture and other hard-to-reach spots.

    F5914 Features

    • At first glance, the F5914 model is hard to distinguish between the F5915 model. It also has a set of removable spinning brushes, heat that is applied directly to the floor for improved cleaning and drying, separate tanks, clean surge option and it has no belts that can break and need replacement. However, it is different in that includes a separate hand tool with spinning brushes, a variable brush roll control for different cleaning needs and a tool mode that shuts off the brushes when needed.

    F5914 Specifications

    • Many of the specifications of the F5914 are slightly different than those of the F5915 unit, such as a cord that is 20 feet in length instead of 21. It too has a 12 amp motor but weighs slightly less at 24 pounds. The unit is 11 inches wide by 20 inches deep by 44 inches high, making it only one or two inches different in size than the F5915.
