How to Set Boundaries for Neato XV-11

Vacuuming is an essential part of keeping a home clean, but it can be time consuming and tiring to lug around a vacuum cleaner. The Neato XV-11 is a robotic vacuum cleaner that takes all the work out of keeping your floors clean. This device will roam your home and vacuum whenever you program it to. You can even set up boundaries for the Neato XV-11 so that it knows not to move into certain areas while cleaning.

Instructions

    • 1

Unpack the boundary markers from the box that the Neato VX-11 came in. These markers come in one large, 15-foot section that can be unrolled. If you want to make a smaller boundary area, use scissors to cut out a smaller square to fit into the area you want to block off.

    • 2

Place the boundary marker sheet onto the ground in the area that you want to mark for the Neato not to come into. If you want to make an odd shaped area (such as an L), cut a portion of the marker sheet and arrange it into the shape you want.

    • 3

Place the Neato XV-11 on the floor near the boundary sheet. Turn the Neato on and set a program for it to clean as you normally would. As the robot begins to clean, it will recognize the boundary markers you have laid down and turn to avoid them. The Neato will continue to clean the entire room up to the markers and then power down.

    • 4

Move the boundary marker sheet to the next area that you want to clean and place it in the desired location. Repeat Step 3 in the next area and the robot will clean the room up to the boundary without crossing it. Note that you will have to have the boundary markers in place. The robot will not remember where they were placed before.
