Instructions

  1. When Clogged

    • 1

Find a liquid cleaner for the steamer, one its manufacturer recommends, and pour half of the contents of the liquid cleaner in the water chamber of your steamer. Let the liquid cleaner settle for at least two hours.

    • 2

Empty the liquid cleaner from the steamer. But make sure to tilt the steamer back and forth in an effort to dislodge the solid calcium buildup from inside the steamer.

    • 3

Add filtered water to your steamer. Rinse the inside of the steamer with this water at least two to three times.

    • 4

Rinse the steamer with filtered water several times to remove all of the calcium buildup from inside the steamer.

    • 5

If for some reason there is still buildup in the steamer, repeat Steps 3 and 4 until you are satisfied with the results.

    If Not Working

    • 6

Check to see that the steamer is plugged in. Then flip the power switch (if it has one) back on and off a few times. If the problem is due to a wiring or hardware problem, you can't fix the steamer on your own. Contact its manufacturer or an authorized repairman.

    • 7

Test the steamer again by plugging it into another outlet. There may be a problem with the electrical current you were using.

    • 8

Make sure there is water in the water chamber of your steamer. The steamer stops working once the water chamber of the steamer has too low of a water level. Use filtered water instead of hard water since it is less likely to clog your steamer in the future.

    • 9

Straighten the steaming hose. Steam has trouble passing through the steaming hose when twisted. A crimped hose may cause the steamer to stop working.
