Instructions

    • 1

Disconnect power to the Bissell vacuum.

    • 2

Remove the dirt bag and replace if it is a dirt bag model. If the vacuum has a dirt cup instead of a dirt bag, remove the dirt cup and empty in a waste bin. Make sure the dirt cup is positioned firmly in the vacuum base.

    • 3

Clean the vacuum cleaner filters, which are typically underneath or behind the dirt container or bag. Tap filters over a waste bin to remove dirt and debris and replace the filter if damaged or broken. Wash the filter if necessary unless marked "HEPA" or "Do not wash" and let the filter dry before putting it back into the Bissell vacuum.

    • 4

Remove the hose and pull it to the full extent to loosen and remove possible obstructions. Check the nozzle for debris and clean out blockages. Reinstall the hose and nozzle firmly so air can flow unobstructed.

    • 5

Turn the vacuum cleaner over and clean the agitator or brush to remove any item that may be blocking vacuum. Remove the brush bar or agitator to view the belt and replace the belt if cracked or split.

    • 6

Restore power to the Bissell and move the height adjuster to the correct height for the floor being cleaned.
