Instructions

    • 1

Make sure 5 oz. of detergent and 1 gallon of hot water are in the "Clean Water Solution Tank," located on the front of the machine. Turn the tank's cap counterclockwise to remove it, and pour in the detergent and hot water. Use only Hoover detergents in your cleaner as others may foam excessively or damage the machine.

    • 2

Slide the "Brush Speed Selector," located on the front lower left of the cleaner, to the correct setting to ensure it will work properly. The "Hi" setting is for normal cleaning of carpets or floors, the "Lo" setting is for gentle cleaning, and "Off" is for cleaning without using the brush.

    • 3

Empty the "Dirty Water Tank," located near the bottom of the machine, if there is no suction or suction is greatly reduced. Press the handle release pedal on the right side of the machine with your foot and pull the cleaner's handle down to the floor.

    • 4

Turn the "Dirty Water Tank" latches, located on each side of the tank, counterclockwise and lift the tank up. Pull the tank's cover up and pour the water down a drain.

    • 5

Place the tank back on the carpet cleaner and rotate the "Dirty Water Tank" latches clockwise to lock it in place. Raise the handle until it clicks back into place.

    • 6

Remove air from the cleaner's system and prime the pump to make sure the cleaning liquid flows through the machine properly. Slide the tool onto the hose until it snaps to lock.

    • 7

Place the tool on a hard surface to block suction. Hold the tool there for about 15 seconds before beginning to clean.

    • 8

Flush the nozzle if it becomes blocked by debris. Pour 2 cups of water onto a non-carpeted floor. Turn the cleaner on and move it back and forth over the spill. You may need to repeat this if the debris is not flushed out the first time.
