How to Clean a GE Halogen Cooktop

A GE halogen cooktop has a glass ceramic surface. The cooktop is heated using a halogen bulb. The halogen bulbs allows the cooktop to get hot quickly and distribute heat evenly. As with any other type of cooktop, this one will require cleaning to remove grime and burnt-on food. Clean the cooktop properly so it doesn’t become scratched or damaged.

Put two or three drops of glass cooktop cleaning cream onto a paper towel. Rub the paper towel over the entire surface of the stove.

    • 2

Wipe the surface with a clean paper towel to remove any residue.

Clean the seal around the edge of the glass with a wet rag. Let the rag rest on the seal for a few minutes before you wipe it clean. If necessary, add a few drops of mild dish soap to the rag to remove tough grime.

Clean the cooktop with cleaning cream and the scraper included with your stove if it is heavily soiled. Apply cleaning cream to the soiled spots. Scrape the soil from the cooktop with the scraper, holding the scraper at a 45-degree angle. Buff with a clean paper towel to remove residue.
