Open the door of your front-loading washing machine. Moisten a sponge with full-strength disinfectant cleaner.
Wipe the inside of the washing machine door. Scrub the rubber seal inside the door to remove mold from the surface.
Wet an old toothbrush with the disinfectant cleaner. Pull the rubber seal away from the glass door surface. Scrub behind the seal with the toothbrush and disinfectant cleaner to kill mold.
Locate your washing machine's filter according to manufacturer instructions. Open the hatch that covers the washing machine's filter.
Remove the filter and clean lint, hair and other debris off the filter. Discard the debris in a trash bag. Rinse the filter with water and replace it in the washing machine.
Fill your front-loading washing machine with hot water. Add 2 cups of bleach through the bleach dispenser. Run the washing machine on a regular cycle to kill any remaining mold.
Run your washing machine on another cycle with hot water only. When the cycle is done, dry the drum with clean cloths and then leave the door of the machine open to allow it to air-dry completely.
