Turn off the dryer and remove any items from the inside.
Locate the lint screen inside the washing machine's door frame. Lift out the screen.
Pull lint off the screen with your fingers and throw it away.
Rinse the screen with hot water. Apply 2 or 3 drops of mild dish detergent to the nylon brush and scrub the screen gently but thoroughly on both sides.
Rinse the screen thoroughly with hot water and dry it with a towel.
Replace the lint screen in the dryer.
Mix equal parts of powdered laundry detergent and hot water in a container. Stir with a spoon to form a paste. You can also use nonflammable all-purpose cleaner.
Apply the cleaner to a soft cloth and wipe out the inside of the dryer drum to remove any accumulated lint, buildup or stains.
Dampen a clean cloth with warm water and wipe the dryer drum to remove any cleaning residue. Rinse the cloth and wring out as needed.
Place a clean, dry load of towels or cloths in the dryer and set the dryer to the "Normal" cycle to dry the drum.
Remove the towels or cloths and clean out the lint screen.
