How to Troubleshoot a Bissell ProHeat Flow Indicator

The Bissell ProHeat deep cleaner comes in several models for cleaning carpets, floors and other surfaces. Certain models have a flow indicator that monitors the level of water and cleaning solution in the machine to let users know when more water or cleaning solution is needed. If you suspect a problem with the flow indicator, remove and check a few parts before contacting the manufacturer.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the Bissell ProHeat “Off,” and disconnect the power cord.

    • 2

Locate the flow indicator filter on the Bissell ProHeat machine base. Unscrew the flow indicator cap and lift up on the red rotor device and the white filter to remove.

    • 3

Wash the filter, rotor and cap with clean water and dry with a towel.

    • 4

Replace the rotor and filter inside the flow indicator housing and close the cap in a counterclockwise motion until firmly closed.

    • 5

Lift out the cleaning solution tank from the cleaner base and turn over. Unscrew the cap and fill with cleaning solution to the “Fill” line. Close and secure the cap and replace the tank on the machine.

    • 6

Press down on the handle release lever and lower the cleaning handle. Lift up on the water tank handle and remove the water tank. Turn the handle forward to unlock the lid and fill the tank with hot water to the “Fill” line. Set the lid back on the tank and turn the handle up to latch. Replace the tank back on the machine and raise the ProHeat handle to the locked position.

Restore power to the ProHeat. The flow indicator should now be functional.
