How to Clean the Lint From a GE Front Loader

GE front-load dryers offer a range of options and features for your laundry needs. All GE front-load dryers have a lint filter inside the door. The filter traps lint to prevent clogs in the exhaust duct, and it needs to be cleaned out after every load. If the filter becomes too full, it can keep the load from drying completely, cause the dryer to overheat and use extra energy. Deep clean the lint filter periodically to remove any fabric-softener residue and keep your GE front-load dryer working its best.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the dryer, and open the door.

    • 2

Pull out the lint filter from inside the door. You will find it either at the top or at the bottom of the door.

    • 3

Dampen your fingers with water, and roll the lint off the filter. Roll the lint downward, and work across the filter to remove all of the lint. Throw the lint away.

    • 4

Rinse the filter under warm running water.

    • 5

Apply two drops of mild soap or dish detergent to a soft brush, and scrub the filter on both sides.

    • 6

Rinse the filter with warm water to remove any soap residue. Shake off excess water, and dry the filter with a towel.

    • 7

Slide the filter into place in the lint filter compartment.
