How to Get Roaches Out of the Inside of My Fridge

Cockroaches are not only disgusting, they can spread disease if they contact food in your refrigerator. Roaches are attracted to heat of the fridge's motor, especially during the winter when it's too cold outdoors for them to survive. The key to eliminating roaches from inside your fridge without the use of potent chemical pesticides is natural roach bait and diligent cleaning. Spills, open food containers and spoiled food are food sources for the roaches and make the extermination process difficult.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove all food from your refrigerator and wipe down the inside with hot, soapy water to eliminate food spills.

    • 2

Throw out all spoiled food and seal remaining food in airtight containers. Food stored in sealed containers is protected from contamination by roaches.

    • 3

Pour 1 cup of boric acid into an uncovered bowl and place the bowl on top of the refrigerator. Roaches are attracted to boric acid and will take the natural poison back to their nest. When consumed, the boric acid poisons the roaches.

    • 4

Place one roach trap on each side of the outside of the fridge, and place one underneath the front of the fridge, to capture the roaches and eliminate them from your home. Do not place the roach traps in the refrigerator, because this can contaminate the food.
