Your conditioners, styling products and hairsprays leave a residue on your hair irons, and hair irons -- whether of the curling, crimping or straightening variety -- can quickly become dirty. When you heat the iron again, the residue becomes baked on, leading to an unsightly, sticky mess. Cleaning your hair iron regularly helps protect your iron and your hair from damage.
