Instructions

    • 1

Turn off all burners and the oven. Let the cooktop surface and the oven chamber cool before applying any cleaning products or liquids.

    • 2

Clean the glass top with Amana’s Cooktop Cleaning Crème, which is recommended by the company. Apply a dime-size amount to a damp paper towel. Do not overuse the cream, as this can cause the glass to cloud or get a gray filmlike coating or streaks. Rub the cream into soiled areas to clean them. Continue rubbing until the white cream film disappears.

    • 3

Remove burned-on soils, specks and discolorations with a ceramic glass scraper, held as flat as possible, to prevent scratching the glass. Use a fresh paper towel, dampened with water, to wipe off the cream cleaner. Dry and buff the glass with a fresh, dry paper towel.

    • 4

Remove the knobs on the oven, and clean them with warm water and a mild liquid detergent. Rinse with warm water, dry them with a paper towel and then put them back in their proper locations.

    • 5

Use a spray glass cleaner for the oven window, clock and control pads. Do not spray the items directly. Instead, spray the cleaner onto a soft cloth, wipe the surfaces clean and towel dry.

    • 6

Pull out your Amana oven racks and broiler pan. Fill a sink with hot, soapy water. Remove grease stains and burns on the racks and broiler pan with a foaming, soapy scouring pad, if needed. Rinse the racks and pan thoroughly with cool water to remove all traces of soap. Dry with a cloth or paper towels, and set them aside.

    • 7

Open the oven, and examine the interior walls. Use a cloth dampened with hot water and liquid detergent to remove soils from the walls and oven door. Rinse and refreshen the cleaning cloth with detergent as needed to preclean the surfaces.

    • 8

Examine the oven interior again to determine whether it will require light, medium or heavy cleaning. Close the oven door, and turn off the light. Locate and press the “Clean” button on the oven control panel. Then press the “Autoset” button to select the cleaning level (light, medium or heavy cleaning). Within four seconds, the self-cleaning cycle on your Amana stove will begin, and the oven door will lock.

    • 9

Let the cycle complete, and allow at least one hour for the oven to cool. The oven door will remain locked during this time. When the oven has sufficiently cooled, the door will unlock. Open the door and examine the cleaning performance. Wipe away ash or residue with a damp cloth, and wipe the oven dry with a paper towel. Return the racks and broiler pan to their proper places to complete your Amana stove self-cleaning project.
