Best Method for Cleaning Black Appliances That Keep Streaking

Black appliances may not show as much dirt as their light-colored counterparts, but water streaks show up dramatically on dark surfaces. The trick to keeping black appliances streak-free is not so much in the cleaning products as in the method of drying. You don't need to spend a lot of time wiping, but using the right kind of material makes a big difference.

Instructions

Moisten a microfiber cloth with water. Rub the cloth on the appliance in a circular motion to remove dirt and other surface residue.

    • 2

Add a few drops of mild dish soap to the damp microfiber cloth if your appliance has stuck-on or greasy residue that isn't lifted with water alone. Scrub with the cloth until the appliance is clean. Rinse the cloth well and wring it out; wipe the appliances again to remove the soap residue.

Allow the appliance to dry until the streaks start to appear. With a dry microfiber cloth, buff the surface evenly until the streaks are gone and the appliance is completely dry.
