How to Empty a Eureka Bagless Vacuum

A session of vacuuming results in dust and debris transfering from your carpets and floors to a canister or bag inside your vacuum. Eureka bagless vacuums contain a "dust cup" that gathers this debris for convenient disposal. Eureka recommends emptying the dust cup after each use. Keeping the dust cup clear helps prevent dust particles from clogging the filter and reducing the flow of air through it.

Instructions

  1. Upright Models

    • 1

Locate a latch near the top of the clear plastic dust cup at the front of the Eureka vacuum.

    • 2

Pull up or slide the latch to the left, depending on the design. Detach the dust cup from the vacuum and carry it over to a garbage bag.

    • 3

Hold the dust cup directly over the garbage bag. Look for a button at the base of the dust cup. Push the button to open the hatch on the button of the cup. If no button is present, turn the dust cover over to empty the contents.

    • 4

Close the hatch on the dust cup. Reinstall the dust cup in the front of the Eureka vacuum. For models with a sliding latch, slide the latch back to the left to lock the dust cup in place.

    Lightweight Upright Models

    • 5

Grab the latch at the top of the clear dust cup at the front of the Eureka vacuum.

    • 6

Pull up on the latch and detach the dust cup from the vacuum.

    • 7

Position the dust cup directly over a garbage bag. Remove the filter from the top of the dust cup. If a lid permits access to the filter, turn the lid counterclockwise before removing the filter.

    • 8

Turn the dust cup upside and empty its contents into the garbage bag.

    • 9

Replace the filter inside the dust cup. If the filter includes a lid, turn the lid clockwise to close.

    • 10

Insert the dust cup back into the vacuum.
