How to Clean a Carpet Rainbow AquaMate

Cleaning the Rainbow AquaMate extraction system after you deep clean a carpet is a process that involves more than just cleaning the extraction head. You must also clean the solution bottle and remove dirty water gathered in the water basin and dirt and debris clinging to the AquaMate wands and hose to prevent mold growth and clogging. A thorough cleaning is also necessary to remove residues from the carpet protector used in the AquaMate’s cleaning solution as the protector can also cause clogs.

Instructions

    • 1

Detach and empty the AquaMate solution bottle. Rinse the bottle with hot water and then refill it halfway with cool water. Reattach the bottle to your cleaner.

    • 2

Set the mode selector on the control housing to “Soap On” and then flush the water through your cleaner by pulling the trigger.

    • 3

Turn off and unplug your Rainbow vacuum and then empty the water basin. Rinse the basin with hot water. Wipe it dry and return it to the cleaner.

    • 4

Attach the hose to the exhaust on the back of your Rainbow. Plug it in and turn it on. Allow it to run for five minutes to dry the hose, wands and AquaMate extraction head.

    • 5

Turn off and unplug your vacuum again. Remove the AquaMate extraction head from the system and check the spray nozzle on it for clogs. If you see clogs, pull the included clean-out tool from the head and then insert it into the end of the nozzle to unblock it. Rinse the head under water and then air-dry it.
