How to Clean Caked-Up Grease Off a Porcelain Stove

When dealing with porcelain, resist the urge to reach for a scouring pad. Scratches on a porcelain surface are a big health concern, particularly in the kitchen, because they expose the underlying porous material to moisture, mold and other micro-organisms. Instead, use a sodium borate- or baking soda-based cleaner. The chemicals are easier on your porcelain, your hands and the environment.
