Removing water spots requires a few special techniques since you are dealing with a different finish than chrome or metal. Instructions

    • 1

Wipe the surface of the faucet with a clean flannel cloth, microfiber cleaning cloth or lint-free towel to remove water spotting. Wipe around the faucet spout, handle and along the base with moderate pressure.

Remove difficult water stains with a household solution of salt and water. Mix 1 tablespoon of salt into 3 quarts of water until the salt dissolves. Dip a cloth into the mixture, wipe the cloth around the faucet, and then rinse the faucet with water. Dry the surface with a clean and dry cloth or towel.

Remove stubborn water spots with a paste mixture of salt, vinegar and flour. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to 1 cup of vinegar, and then add flour to the mixture until you have a thick paste. Apply the paste around the faucet, and then let the paste dry for an hour. Wipe away the paste with water, and dry it with a towel.
